Melody Anderson Joins Lakewide Realty
Camdenton Real Estate Office Shows Big Promise

Big changes don’t come easily to me, and the decision to leave real estate giant RE/MAX for a small, privately-owned real estate office was no exception. (That big RE/MAX balloon had become quite the security blanket for me these past years!)
Then one day in a middle of a meeting it struck me that fear and doubt were keeping me from making the change I really felt compelled to make. With that realization the decision to make the change immediately followed. And my enthusiasm has grown every day since.
Thanks to the internet and computer technologies, the selling of real estate has changed dramaticly these past 5 years. Expensive brick and mortar, franchised real estate offices are likely to be replaced with innovative, creative and technologically advanced teams of agents with a passion for excellence and commitment to service.
That’s what we are putting together at Lakewide Realty in Camdenton, and I’m proud to be a part of it - proud already of what it promises to become in relatively short order.
For those of you ready to sell or to buy at the Lake of the Ozarks, I hope you’ll give me an opportunity to show you the Lakewide difference.

Fall Colors are Afire in Camdenton
Could These Bushes be More Red at First National Bank?

Driving south of the stoplight on Business 5 in Camdenton, I was so struck with these vibrant colors I turned my car around to get a better look. I wish I knew what type of bushes these are that produce such vibrant colors. They are glorious! It almost looks as if the ground in front of First National Bank is on fire.

Horses, barns and ducks….oh, my!
Some Wonderful Missouri Farms For Sale
near the Lake of the Ozarks

After showing lakefront property all weekend, it was a lovely change of pace to show some farms on Monday. After spending a little time with some horses and dogs, and sitting next to a pond visiting with a family of ducks, I left Morgan County feeling renewed! It’s always surprising how just a few minutes in nature can revive the spirit.

Taking a break from house-hunting on the west side of the Lake on Saturday; I relaxed with some of my favorite clients at Sunrise Cantina in Sunrise Beach. Good Mexican food, nice service, great conversation and a beautiful fall view of the lake – what could be better!

Lake of the Ozarks Wedding Ministry
Camdenton Minister Officiates Nuptials on the Niangua River.
In addition to her duties as a realtor at the Lake of the Ozarks, Melody Anderson also has a non-denominational wedding ministry. Last week she discovered she has a bit of the adventurer in her! Pictured here with newlyweds Kevin and Jade Sellers, Melody officated their nuptials from a canoe last weekend on the Niangua River, west of Camdenton. The newlyweds not only succeeded in coaxing her into a canoe, but Melody now plans on being one of their first customers in their upcoming kayak river tour business.

Some of The Nicest Servers in Town!
Camdenton’s China Town Restaurant
Located on Hwy 54, west of the square, China Town restaurant is the place to go for great service at lunch time. I often eat there weekly, and never have I had poor service or delay.
Ordering from the lunch menu is not only quick, but inexpensive! For less than $5, I can order an entree that is not only tasty and satisfying, but requires a doggy bag.
If you’re looking for something quick, tasty, and served with a smile, you’ll like this place.

Mexican Restaurant is a Hit With The Locals
El Caporal offers authentic Mexican fare
Camdenton has voted YES for this new restaurant, & I vote YES for their burritos. This place is definitely here to stay. Open for lunch and dinner, it’s located E. of the square on Hwy 54 in Camdenton. It’s close to my office, so call me and I’ll meet you for lunch!

Boat Docks Soon to be Classified as Real Property
Happy News for this Lake of the Ozarks Realtor!
Effective August 28, the State of Missouri will officially classify boat docks as real property. This is very welcomed news not only to dock owners here at the Lake of the Ozarks, but for any realtor in the area, like myself, who has struggled lately trying to get lake homes under contract to appraise. Two of my own sales in the last 3 months were threatened with low appraisals, due to more stringent underwriting guidelines imposed by Freddie, Fannie and FHA. This new action should go a long way to relieving those difficulties. Hence, happy news indeed!

Osage Beach is named in America's Top Ten Getaways
Health.com ranks Osage Beach #4 in Top Ten list

Lake of the Ozarks at Osage Beach
CNN has recently reported the news that Health.com has ranked Osage Beach as one of America’s Top Ten Beach and Lake Getaways. Health.com cites the lake’s 1150 miles of shoreline, it’s beautiful public beach, and the rolling hills and other natural landscapes as reasons for the high ranking.
One of the judges from Health.com remarked about the views from the State Park, “The view is so spectacular, you won’t want to leave.”
I remember feeling that way myself on my last visit to the park, just weeks ago.
